OOTD!

Hi everyone,

I thought I would share today's outfit with you all! I wasn't really doing anything today but I actually liked my outfit which has been quite a rare occasion for me recently.

My favourite part of this outfit is definitely the jacket. It is a lovely khaki green colour and it has a really nice fit. I did buy a jacket similar to this from Next but decided to return it as it just didn't look right on me. It turned out for the better since I found this one in h&m and it was a lot cheaper!

Jacket - h&m
Top - Primark
Leggings - h&m
Shoes - vans

Accessorize Lipstick!

Hello, hope you's are having a good day!

I just wanted to tell you all about a little bargain that I picked up today because I know everyone loves a good bargain!!

I was just wandering around Superdrug and found some lovely Accessorize lipsticks for £2 off which made them only £2.95! As everyone knows that is insanely cheap for a lipstick so I couldn't resist.

Next time you're in Superdrug keep an eye out for these!!

REVIEW: Revlon Photoready 3D Mascara!

I have been wanting to pick up this mascara for a little while now but I could never justify paying £10.99 for a drugstore mascara that I may end up disliking. So as soon as I saw Superdrug having a 2 for £10 on all revlon lip products, mascara and nail varnish I just had to get it. Firstly I normally go for black mascara but me being a dafty, didn't look at the colour so I ended up getting black/brown. I thought this was a complete disaster but it actually didn't turn out that bad. After I tried the mascara I realised that it wasn't too far away from completely black and that the slight brown tones gave my lashes a more summery look.

My favourite thing about this mascara is definitely the applicator. I am a big fan of rubber bristles rather than the fibre ones as I personally think they coat my lashes better. As you can see by the picture above, there are a LOT of bristles on the wand which actually makes it easier to coat all your lashes at once. Also the bristles right on the end of the wand really help to separate and lengthen your lashes on the outer corner. The only slight flaw the wand has is that the mascara seems to clump a little bit at the bottom of the bristles (which is also shown in the picture). I didn't find this too much of a hassle as I just wiped it away before application.

The actual mascara its self is very good. It coats my lashes really well and adds a lot of length on to them which is brilliant!! It doesn't add as much volume as I hoped but you can't have it all. (The pictures above show my lashes with two coats of the mascara on). As for the packaging, I don't really have much to say about it. Its honestly just a standard drugstore packaging to me.

Overall this mascara is very good and I'm glad I finally got a chance to try it. I would definitely buy this mascara again but I still don't think I would pay £10.99 for it. That is only because I love my maybelline ones just as much and they are cheaper.

Relaxation Evening!

Hello Everyone!

Since I was off work yesterday night, I decided that I wanted to have a pampering/relaxation evening! I don't get to do them very often because I work in the evening normally. However on a night like that I just couldn't let the opportunity pass so I thought I would share my routine with you all!

Before I start my relaxation evening, I like to remove all my make-up and cleanse my skin.

1. The first thing I done was go for a bath! I am usually a shower kind of girl but baths are a lot more relaxing and it's always nice to have a change. I love lots of bubbles in my baths so I like to use one of the bubble bars from Lush.

2. Once I got out the bath, I ran my hair under the shower and used my normal shampoo which is Dove intensive repair. I always give my hair a really deep condition on my pamper nights. The one I used last night was Aussie 3 minute miracle reconstrutor. After I applied it, I left it to do its job then I rinsed it out.

3. After that I applied my moisturiser to my face which is Simple night cream and then to the rest of my body I apply fcuk bodybutter (I would sometimes do a face mask before applying my moisturiser but on this particular night I didn't). At this point I also turned some music on and put on cute pajamas.

4. The finishing touches to my relaxing evening were to light a candle, grab a drink and a cupcake (which I made yesterday afternoon) and sit down to watch one of my favourite movies!

So that is everything I done on my pamper night! Thank you for reading and don't forget to treat yourself to a pamper night soon too!

Beauty & Clothing Haul!

Hello everyone!

Over the past few weeks I have caught myself doing some sneaky online shopping...and some normal shopping as well! So I decided since I picked up a few new things I may as well do a haul. I know this is quite a lot to have bought in only a few weeks but since my exam results came back pretty good I decided to treat myself! Lets get into it...

Clothing

Miss Guided was the first website I visit and unfortunately this is where I done the most damage to my back account. I had been eyeing up disco pants for a few weeks now but I wasn't too keen on paying for the American Apparel ones so when I went on Miss Guided and spotted some for £19.99, I had to put them straight into the basket. Since I got them  I have only managed to wear them once but they are definitely very comfy! I'm pretty sure I will get lots of wear out of them.

The next thing I got is a slightly oversized dark grey t-shirt. I got this as I thought it would look nice with my disco pants and it was only £9.99. The material is very soft and I like how the sleeves are rolled up a little as it gives the plain top a bit more detail.

As I was browsing through the rest of the t-shirts I found a nice khaki one with faux leather panels on the shoulders and pocket. I don't actually own any other khaki piece of clothing so it's nice to have a different colour and it was only £7.79 - bargain. The material is again very soft and I think it would look great just paired with some leggings.

The last thing I bought from Miss Guided is a mint green blouse. If you know about my current obsession then you will know exactly why I had to pick it up (If not read THIS blog post). The blouse was £11.89 which I think was a pretty good deal. I would probably wear this either with my disco pants or black leggings. I also decided that I preferred the look of the blouse with the sleeves round up instead of the full length sleeves.

I always see lots of things I like from Forever 21 but I just completely fell in love with this mint and white striped top. It is a little bit cropped but I'd just wear it with some high waisted trousers. This was another bargain at only £6.50.

The other item that I bought from forever 21, is this gorgeous mint flower necklace. It is such a beautiful statement necklace and I think it goes really well with the striped tee. It is another mint green thing to add to my growing collection. This was £5.65.

The last piece of clothing I bought is completely adorable. It is from Asda and it was £16. I didn't technically buy this as my mum gave me the money for since I done well in my exams, which was very lovely of her. This jumper will definitely be one of my favourites this winter!

Beauty

The first shop I went to was Superdrug. I don't tend to buy make-up in Superdrug but when I saw that Revlon were having a 2 for £10 on all lip products, mascara and nail varnish, I knew I would have to pick something up. I decided to get a new lip butter and the one I went for was Wild Watermelon. I it a lovely pinky red colour and it is a great addition to my collection. The other thing I picked up was the Photoready 3D Mascara. I was attracted to this because of the rubber applicator as I feel mascara goes onto my lashes better with them. I have only tried this once but so far so good.

I then visited boots who were having a 2 for £14 on L'oreal. I have wanted to try a L'oreal foundation for ages now and this seemed like the perfect opportunity so instead of just picking up one I picked up two. I got the Infallible and true match foundation. I have tried them both once but a full review post will be one its way.

Thanks for reading and I hope you are all having a great day!

My Go-To Outfit!

Hello Everyone,

Sorry I've been lacking on the blog posts over the weekend, I had a lot of shifts at work and I just didn't have enough time to sit down to write! But today is my day off and heres a new post as I promised.

Does anyone else have those days where every outfit you try on just doesn't look right? Well unfortunately today was one of those days for me. I had on about 10 different outfits today and they all just weren't right and worst of all, I now have to put all the clothes that I dragged out of my wardrobe back in!! Anyway I find these types of days very stressful especially if i'm planning on going out somewhere which I was today. So a couple of weeks ago I decided it was time to fix my 'bad day' problem. I put an outfit together that is comfy, casual but slightly smart as well and it can also be altered to fit the weather. I hope you enjoy!

So here is the basic outfit. The blouse is a lovely cream colour and it keeps the outfit slightly more smart which makes it suitable for different occasions. I also layered a white vest top under it as it keeps me a lot warmer and the blouse is very sheer. The jeggings are a navy blue and are definitely the comfiest trousers I own. I added the gold, long necklace just to accesorize the outfit a bit more and I think it is really pretty. Finally the shoes are nude pink which sticks to the neutral theme of this outfit.

Since it was pretty cold and rainy in Scotland today, I added a jacket to the outfit. This Jacket is also a navy blue but it is a little bit lighter than the jeggings so it doesn't look to matchy matchy. It is the perfect jacket for the Scottish summer as it isn't to thick and it has a hood which is definitely needed with all the unpredictable rain we get.

If you are lucky enough to live somewhere warm this outfit can also be altered to suit that weather. All i've done here is substitute the jeggings for some navy shorts and thats it. You could also add some sandals if you wanted.

Blouse - New Look
Jeggings - Matalan
Shorts - New Look
Shoes - New Look
Necklace - Accesorize
Jacket - New Look

I love this outfit so much and it came in very handy today since nothing else looked right. I definitely think that everybody should have a go-to outfit especially if you are like me and sometimes have a clothing crisis!!

Thank you so much for reading!

REVIEW: Superdrug Coconut Oil!

Hello Everyone!

I have recently noticed that my hair has been looking quite dry and lifeless, so I decided that it was time I had a rummage through my hair care products and see what I could find. I came across Superdrug's Coconut Oil which I bought a few months ago. Over the past 3 weeks I have been using it continuously and loving it!!

This product say it's for skin but on the back it says it can be used as a hair and scalp mask which is what I use it for. I normally use this once or twice a week depending on how dry my hair looks.

Firstly I put some of the coconut oil into a small glass dish (anything microwaveable would work fine), the amount you require obviously varies according to your hair length. Then I put it in the microwave for about one minute and after that you will be left with a clear liquid. If you don't want to put it in the microwave, you can just melt it in your hands but I find my way quicker.

Then I smooth the oil through the lengths of my hair, concentrating it on the ends! With whatever is left I apply it to my roots and scalp. The first time I done this I was very scared as I thought it might not wash out properly and leave my hair looking very greasy but it honestly works and washes out great. Once all the product is applied you will be left with hair that looks like it hasn't been washed for weeks...lovely! Like this...

I normally leave the oil on for about half an hour, then I wash it out. You can leave it on over night for a really deep treatment but I usually don't have time to do that. I wash my hair as I always do but I use my shampoo twice since this will guarantee that no oil will be left. After my shower I leave my hair to dry naturally for a little while, then I spray on my leave-in conditioner as it helps get rid of the tugs in my hair. I then apply my heat protect and dry my hair. I am then left with beautifully soft, shiny, healthy looking hair.

Overall, this coconut oil works wonders for my hair and it is a lot cheaper than other coconut oils out there. It is only £2.29 so it definitely won't break the bank. I have found this product just as effective or more effective than other hair masks I have tried which is brilliant. The packaging obviously isn't that attractive but it does the job and for the price you really can't complain. The product will also last a very long time as it is quite deceiving how much is actually in that little tub.

So basically if you need a new hair mask that isn't too expensive, give this a try!

Thanks for reading!

My MINT Obsession!

Hey, hope you's are all doing well!

My post today is a little bit different. I'm going to be telling you about a current obsession of mine. It is a very strange obsession but it does tie in a little bit with beauty, fashion and... food!

It is MINT!! I'm addicted to the colour, taste and smell of it. I just completely love it. I must admit I have always loved the taste of mint ever since I was little but now I have slowly noticed myself gravitating to the mint coloured clothing in shops. So I thought I would share with you my big little stash of mint items I have acquired over the past few months and also share my favourite mint flavoured foods!

Clothes & Accessories

  1. The first item I'm going to talk about is this beautiful mint green skirt from Miss Guided. I bought this for only £12.99 which I think is pretty good value. It is quite a bright mint colour and it has sheer chiffon fabric over the actual skirt. It also has elastic in the waist band so it is very flattering.

  2. I got this top a while back now but it has become my 'lazy day' top which means any day I can't be bothered picking out an outfit, this is what I go for. It is from New Look, it is just a simple racer back top with button detailing down the front. The fabric is very soft and a little over sized making it very comfortable. (The photo doesn't show the colour very well but its just a pastel mint green colour)

  3. The next item I have purchased is also from New Look. It is the lovely statement necklace with mint green gemstones in it. I can't remember exactly how much I paid for it but i'm sure it was about £8 (I did see it in the sale like the next week...but lets not talk about how annoying that is!) I am a big fan of statement necklaces just now so this was a must buy for me.

  4. Finally I have my mint green phone case! I was on the hunt for a new case and I saw this one on Ebay and I just thought it was really cute. The lace and pearl detailing is really nice but since i've had this a few weeks now the lace has gotten dirty and a few of the pearls have started to become loose. It was only £2.99 though.
Beauty & Nail Varnish
  1. I only have one make-up item to talk about as mint coloured make-up is quite rare. It is a L'oreal Colour Infallible eyeshadow in Innocent Turquoise. Even though it says that it is turquoise it goes onto the skin a slight mint colour. I haven't had that much time to experiment with it yet but I have used it once under the eye and it looks really nice. I also want to try it as an inner corner highlight. This was £6.99.

  2. The first nail varnish I'm going to talk about which is, of course, my current favourite is Mint Candy Apple by Essie. The colour is beautiful and it applies so well, you only need two coats. It doesn't chip easily either. I got this as a present from one of my friend for my birthday which means she obviously knows me very well. Essie nail varnishes are £7.99.

  3. I also have Barry M's Mint Green nail varnish which was a complete bargain at only £2.99. I also love the colour of this one, it is quite a lot darker than Mint Candy Apple but I guess it's better that they aren't the same colour completely. This also goes on great and only requires two coats but I do find it chips on me pretty easily.
Food
  1. I always have either mint chewing gum or tic tacs in my bag at all times. This is quite a normal thing for people to carry but I probably go through them a lot quicker than the average person.
  2. Mint Areo. Yum. It has to be one of the best chocolates in the world, I just completely love it.
  3. I also really like mint Poppets. They have a stronger mint flavour and it is also covered in dark chocolate instead of milk. So if I don't fancy an areo this is the next thing i'll go for.
Thank you so much for reading!

Wearable Blue Eyeshadow!

Hello Everyone!

I have recently been a little bit braver with incorporating colour into my eye looks. I normally stick to neutrals but I just felt like I needed to step out of my comfort zone and go for colour. I wanted to create a look that was very wearable and easy to achieve. Lets get into it then...

I started my adventure into colour by applying my Maybelline Colour Tattoo in Everlasting Navy onto the outer half of my eye. I then blended it with a fluffy No 7 brush.

After that I took Naked Lunch from MAC and placed it on the inner half of my eye, connecting it to the colour tattoo.

Then I decided that I wanted to make the navy blue a bit more vibrant so I used Skinny Dip from my Too Faced Insurance Policy palette. I just used a little bit at a time over the colour tattoo and blended before adding some more. I repeated these steps until I was happy with the intensity of the blue.

After that I took Wedge from MAC and blended it through my crease as a transition colour. Then I ran some of the colour tattoo along my lower lash line, concentrating it on the outer half and then did the same with Skinny Dip eyeshadow. I made my lower lash line colour a lot more intense than the colour on my lid. I used Accesorize Silk Baked Eyeshadow in Lily to highlight my inner corner and brow bone. To finish off the look I ran my L'oreal super liner along my top lash line, added a few coats of Maybelline's One by One mascara to my lashes and lined my water line with Master Drama Khol eyeliner again by Maybelline.

And that's it! Very simple but it definitely adds something a bit different to your look. Thank you for reading and I hope some of you who are a bit scared of colour (like me!!) try this look out.

Please excuse my hair, it was a no heat day!

Favourite Products: Maybelline!

Hello Everyone!

Today I thought I would share my favourite products from Maybelline. Maybelline is one of my favourite high street/drugstore brands and it has many great products that I would highly recommend. Lets get into it...

24hr Colour Tattoo
These cream shadows are amazing. They are loved through out the blogging community and I definitely know why. First of all, I really like the packaging. The lid is very secure so you don't have to worry about the product drying out. Also it is nice and small so it is great for travelling. All the colours I have tried have been very pigmented and super easy to blend. They look great on their own or with eyeshadow on top which makes them very versitile. So they honestly tick all the boxes for me and were worth every penny.

One by One Mascara
I have tried quite a few of Maybelline's mascaras but the one I completely love and have re-purchased many times is the One by One. This mascara adds volume and length to my lashes with just one coat which is amazing especially when your're in a rush. It doesn't smudge or crumble on me through out the day and it is very easy to remove. I constantly have this mascara in my make-up bag and I am yet to find another one I love more.

Master Drama Kohl Eyeliner
This eyeliner was in my recent July favourites post but I had to include it in this one as well. I use this eyeliner every single day without fail. It is very soft which means doesn't pull at my eye at all while i'm applying it and it is super pigmented. I do have to re-apply it though out the day but that's only if i've used it on my waterline.

Colour Sensational Lipstick
I own two of these lovely lipsticks, one is 620 Pink Brown and the other is 175 Pink Punch. Pink Brown is exactly what it sounds like, it is a nude pink. It is definitely one of those 'my lips but better' colours. Whereas, Pink Punch is a vibrant hot pink. This colour is perfect when you want something very bright on your lips. They have a very creamy consistency meaning my lips are kept hydrated through the day and they don't have to be re-applied too often.

Baby Lips!!
Can I first of all say how glad I am that Mabelline FINALLY brought these wonderful lip balms to the UK - woohoo! Although I have only been using these a short time, I definitely love them. The slightly tinted ones (Cherry me, Pink Punch and Peach Kiss) are great for when i'm going to work as I do like to always have something on my lips but obviously nothing too bright. All the lip balms kept my lips looking and feeling hydrated with their slightly glossy apperance. They also all smell great!
(From left to right: Pink Punch, Mint Fresh, Peach Kiss, Hydrate, Intense Care & Cherry Me)

Thank you for reading and I hope you maybe think about trying some of these amazing products!
